Dry needling is an effective method for treating myofascial trigger points. Our specially trained physiotherapists use this therapy as part of physiotherapy, often in combination with other forms of therapy. Dry needling is used, for example, to treat headaches, tension, shoulder problems, tennis elbow, and jaw pain. Muscle hardening, also known as trigger points, reduces blood and oxygen supply and can cause local or radiating pain in the body. In dry needling, the physical therapist inserts a thin (dry) needle into a specific trigger point in the muscle to release tension and reduce inflammation. The insertion of the needle is barely noticeable, but may cause a local "twitching pain." The targeted insertion into the trigger point relaxes the muscles and the pain subsides. The number of treatments is individual and depends on the respective needs. Let our physiotherapy team advise you—we look forward to seeing you.
