First unicondylar knee joint surgery with the VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution at the Berit Clinic
The Berit Clinic recently performed the first unicondylar knee joint surgery using the VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution in eastern Switzerland. Under the direction of Dr. Simon Maier from Orthopädie Rosenberg, this procedure was performed in the presence of industry representatives. Orthopädie Rosenberg is a strategic partner of the Berit Clinic.
Since April 2024, the Berit Clinic has been successfully using the VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution for total knee replacement surgery. However, the recent partial prosthesis surgery is a first in the region. The Berit Clinic is proud to be the first clinic in Switzerland to receive two VELYS robotic systems and to use these innovative technologies to the benefit of its patients.
The unicondylar knee prosthesis is mainly used in cases of painful and advanced wear of the inner joint surface, also known as osteoarthritis. A prerequisite for the procedure is that the remaining parts of the knee joint are in good condition. The aim of the operation is to restore pain-free function of the knee joint.
Together, we are proud to be pioneers and to offer our patients the most advanced treatment methods available.
