Nadja Fässler becomes Swiss champion in trail running

At the anniversary edition of Les Courses du Mont-Terrible 2026 last Saturday, Nadja Fässler from Appenzell achieved her greatest success to date in trail running. As part of the Swiss Championships over 50 kilometers, she secured the national title for the first time—and did so with an impressive performance.
This year’s edition of the traditional trail running event, which took place on April 18 and 19 in Fontenais in the Jura, was dedicated to the Swiss Championships and attracted numerous top athletes. The challenging course in the Jura, spanning around 50 kilometers with several steep climbs totaling 2,500 meters of elevation gain, demanded everything from the athletes.
Nadja ran a strong race from the very start. After about ten kilometers, she pulled decisively ahead of her competitors. From that point on, the Appenzell native ran a solo race at the front and was even able to extend her lead over the competition.
At the finish line, Nadja was able to celebrate not only the Swiss championship title but also a new course record. With a time of 4:53:00 hours, she significantly beat the previous record by around 30 minutes and secured the title with a 24-minute lead over second place.
“I’m incredibly happy—but I haven’t fully realized it all yet; that will probably take a little while,” said Nadja after the race. Nadja Fässler is particularly grateful when she looks at the people around her. The support from her partners and sponsors is very valuable to her and made this success possible in the first place. The tremendous support from her partner Jan on race days and in everyday life is an important part of this success for Nadja.
Berit Sportclinic is proud to support Nadja Fässler as a medical partner and to provide her with a coach in Matthias Graf, who plays a crucial role in her preparation and training, contributing to this remarkable success. We would also like to take this opportunity to extend a big thank you to Matthias for his dedication and efficient training planning.
With this victory, Nadja Fässler sends a strong message for regional sports and is now firmly among the national elite in trail running.
