The Berit Sportclinic Becomes Medical Partner of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers

The Berit Klinik and the SCRJ Lakers have sealed a partnership for the next three seasons through 2028/29. As the official medical partner, the clinic will provide medical and physical therapy care for the SCRJ’s first team, U21 Elite, and U18 Elite teams.

The partnership covers medical care for the Lakers’ first team, U21 Elite, and U18 Elite teams. The Berit Sportclinic is responsible for providing medical, sports medicine, and sports physical therapy care for the first team, including on-site medical services at home games and during the playoffs. Dr. sc. med. Roman Gähwiler serves as the medical director, with Dr. med. Hanspeter Betschart acting as his deputy.

Being able to benefit from this knowledge and its extensive network is an enormous asset for our organization,” says Lakers sports director Claudio Cadonau regarding the new partnership. The new medical director, Roman Gähwiler, adds: “In high-intensity, injury-prone competitive sports like ice hockey, a well-coordinated and broadly skilled medical team is a crucial factor for success. With our three-year partnership, we are ensuring continuity in medical care, from which the Lakers will benefit in the long term.”

The Berit Sportclinic provides National League players with a holistic medical approach that closely integrates medical care, physical therapy, and performance diagnostics. The goal is to provide athletes with optimal care throughout the season, identify health risks early on, and minimize injuries through preventive measures. Players benefit from quick and easy access to medical consultations as well as further evaluation and treatment. Should surgical procedures be necessary, they can be performed at the Berit Klinik. This ensures comprehensive medical care, ranging from prevention to acute treatment and rehabilitation.
