The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina were wonderful, with Swiss athletes achieving great success.

The last few weeks have been intense and unforgettable for the participants, spectators, and the Swiss Olympic medical team on site. Hanspeter Betschart, CMO of Swiss Olympic and chief physician at the Berit Sportclinic, is proud and grateful to have been part of this unique event. Even though this was his fifth Olympic Games, his passion for sport and his profession remains unbroken.

The incredible emotions that arise in such unique places are simply indescribable. The medal wins in Nordic skiing and bobsleigh were particularly emotional for him. He has accompanied these athletes for many years and was able to experience the jubilation and immense joy up close.

The solidarity and excellent cooperation with our colleagues on site made it possible to be there for the athletes every step of the way. The support from Switzerland in the form of additional specialists, infectious disease specialists, and the Rega also helped us to stay focused.

It was a wonderful Winter Games in Milano Cortina with lots of cheering and experiences that will remain in our memories. Last but not least, a big thank you to all the Swiss athletes who brought us so much joy with their participation, medal wins, and diplomas. Well done and congratulations!
